Role Summary:
The Sr. Sales Director supports the technical product sales of GE Aviation's electrical power semiconductor product line. This person is responsible for new product sales for GE Aviation's state-of-the-art Silicon Carbide (SiC) power modules and devices. The Sr. Sales Director position will cover the global market focusing on customers in the industrial segment.
Essential Responsibilities:
Just as Silicon (Si) became the semiconductor standard 30 years ago, SiC is now revolutionizing the electric power industry. It can work at temperatures unreachable by Si chips and can operate at much higher frequencies because these devices are significantly more efficient. SiC-based devices can also manage the same power levels as Si devices but at half the size and weight. These power modules are a key enabling technology for advanced power electronic systems and electric vehicles. GE has invested more than $150M over 13 years to aggressively develop state-of-the-art SiC for new applications.
To help capitalize on these investments, this position requires a Senior Sales Director with initiative, persistence and ingenuity to drive sustained growth for this product line. The right candidate will leverage his / her industrial sector experience to open new markets for GE's Silicon Carbide products. The position interacts directly with power system design companies in the industry as well as GE's product engineers, operations personnel and commercial team to deliver the right products that customers are looking for.
Additionally, as the Sr. Sales Director, the Essential Responsibilities will include:
* Execute on assigned operating plan to assure that business achieves growth, orders and cash targets
* Build influential relationships with assigned customers at all levels and develop strategies to win profitable business from those customers
* Identify, qualify and develop opportunities driving growth
* Develop and execute customer strategies and pursuit / campaign plans
* Key customers include major automotive, construction equipment, aerospace OEMs and Government organizations
* Lead numerous, complex, multi-million-dollar proposal efforts
* Interact with CRM systems tracking pursuits and opportunities
* Demonstrate commercial and technical expertise within the electric power semi-conductor product market segment
* Support division input for operating planning and forecasting
* Support strategy and growth initiatives for the division
* Participate in negotiations as needed to close deals
* Approximately 50% domestic & international travel as needed to meet job requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, business or similar technical field from an accredited university or college
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, sales or marketing
* Minimum of 3 years of industrial sector experience working with major automotive, farm and construction equipment, military vehicle or similar customers
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):
* Ability and willingness to travel Approximately 50% domestically and internationally as needed to meet job requirements
