::Assists the physician and staff members in providing optimal care to patients under the direction of the physician. Prepares treatment rooms for examination including inspections for cleanliness and equipment conditions, stocks and maintains rooms and nurses stations with adequate supplies. Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms; prepares for physician visits by obtaining initial patient history/information and vital signs; assists with exams, test and special procedures as directed. Assists with scheduling appointments, pre-certifying patients, referral contacts, clinical and clerical duties.
High school graduate or GED required.
Current nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification/registration (MA:RMA), OR The ABR-OE (Assessment-Based Recognition in Order Entry) or other nationally recognized credentialing allowing for electronic medical health record (EHR) order entry.
Minimum of 6 months of clinical experience preferred. Emphasis in clerical experience must include high degree of public contact.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients and medical staff required.
